You know that sexy shirt you’re afraid to wear?? That one that you keep telling yourself you’ll wear once you lose 5 pounds…ok, maybe more like 9/10ish pounds? If not, you’re bound to find something cute to wear over it…eventually.
Or so you tell yourself.
What about those cute jeans that you tried on in the store, before lunch, on that one day when you felt energized and fabulous, and somehow you woke up & magically lacked bloat and nary a flub overreached the button fly front of those hot ASS Levi’s…you know what pair I mean. The ones so you proudly took home and yet they sat on your shelf, tags yellowing as they taunt you, and years have gone by but you’ve never actually worn them…outside of your daydreams. Besides, you’re probably too old to pull them off now anyway. At least, that’s what you assume.
Sure. We all have those “goal” pants. The ones that gather dust instead of lap up spilt milk memories at the park with the kids. The ones you won’t ever get messy with date night staines because your lover won’t keep their hands off that peach apple bottom you’re rockin’.
Sweetheart…Wear it. Just put it the fuck on. Just TRY it. I dare ya. Even if your body has changed, embrace it! Feel all the feels that you did when you bought it, and ignore that bitch in the background of your mind mumbling bullshit negativity & making you paranoid of judgment. You don’t need her.
Put the shirt on. Wear the jeans. I bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised. It’s NEVER going to look like WE imagine it will look – good or bad. What matters is how you FEEL in it. Make it work for you with the proper shoes…the perfect top. Just, don’t not wear it because you fear what others might think.
People will receive the energy of our confidence long before they can take in our appearance, and if you think you look good…that’s all that matters. Age sure as sh!t has nothing to do with it. Weight? Who cares.
This shirt has been in my closet, sent to me by Stitch Fix, and I’ve not touched it in 3 years. The tags were still on it, even. But, holy hot damn!! Yur girl looked HOT! I mean… look’it those boobiez 😜.
I’m pretty thrilled that I took my own advice for once and bravely tried the damn shirt on. If nothing else, I felt sexy and confident and I liked how I looked, and truly, that’s all that matters to me. 💜💜💜
