Insurrection: Which Side are You On?

I’ve given this a lot of thought, and without pissing anyone off too horribly (hopefully), here’s my response to someone who didn’t see anything wrong with choosing to defend the side filled with proud ‘loud Nazi’s.

I’ve heard some weak arguments trying to defend those who attempted the coup last week, and I’ve got a lil something to say to those wondering if they are on “the wrong side”. Even God draws lines between good & evil. He cast the Angel Michael away…he made a stance. Making a stance, choosing a “side,” a “team,” a relationship, every choice you have regarding the people you support and surround yourself with, is a reflection on you. My mother always said, “you are who you hang{out} with.” If you align yourself, or defend the actions of those who wish ill on others, those who make poor choices, and those who committ reprehensible actions of harm, you are going to be seen as one of “them.” Corruption does reside on both sides! Do you align yourself with that corruption? Or support it? I, for one, don’t support corruption or treason in any measure, and you sure as hell aren’t going to see me defend those who committ such atrocities. Being a country loving, military respecting, Republican is an understandable side for which to lean; it’s when one begins to lean more into the Nazi idealisms that I say they’ve “crossed a line.” Choosing a side of 2 major political parties is not the problem here. Choosing to support, defend, and excuse the behavior of citizens who make a mockery of democracy, kill people, simply because they were invigorated by a pompous, law breaking ass, not because their lives or civil liberties were in danger, they ARE THE WRONG PEOPLE to side with. Agreeing with the notion of desecrating the symbol of our freedom, destroying the very room in which our laws are made, wearing clothes promoting/ celebrating the death of millions innocent people in reference to a war that WE FOUGHT AND WON….that is undoubtedly, the glaringly evil “wrong side.” So, I’ll answer your question with a question, are you on the “wrong side?”
