I’m twisted, y’all. I’m literally shaking with anxiety at the moment. Serious question, does this article concern anyone else? (Ya gotta read it before you spew unsolicited opinions at me, though.😑)
As most of you should know, I’ve had a phobia of pandemics since I was a toddler. Since late 2019 I have been terrified of this virus and I have done what I feel is best to protect my family and my community, and I’ve supported and respected individual choices, even if they were different from my own. Since day 1 I’ve said, “I’m going to do what’s best for me and my family, and I’m going to assume everyone else is doing the same.” And I still hold true to that sentiment. But, after almost 2 years of this I’m beginning to wonder, what are others doing to protect their families and communities?
Don’t wanna wear a mask or have mask mandates? Ok. I get that. Mask rash, ick.
Don’t wanna be quarantined for months at a time or stay home because businesses are closed? Yea, that sucks. I get it. I don’t wanna -Again- either.
Don’t wanna get a vaccine? Ok. If you have a medical reason not to or you’re afraid of needles, I can empathize with that. I have phobias too.
Don’t wanna do Distance Learning or have your kid wear masks at school, or make sure they don’t miss out on big, important events like prom or graduation? I get it. I don’t want any of that stuff either. Those are significant events that no one should miss out on.
You taut ‘Blue Lives & All Lives’ matter, ok. It doesn’t align with my perspective, but it’s good to know you respect the sanctity of life itself.
You hate staying 6 feet away from people and it’s heartbreaking to be in the hospital or nursing homes at without visitors. I agree, wholeheartedly. I imagine it’s beyond terrifying to be the one IN the hospital without visitors too.
You say that the vaccine kills people…ok, that’s a possibility, but I had to weigh the numbers. I’ve read differing numbers in the 35K range for vax reactions, but after 2 years of COVID we’re dealing with the death of millions of people. I had to make a choice and I hated both options, so I went with a lil logic and looked at (real) facts and made a decision that I thought was best for me and for my family. I got the Phizer Vaccine and I’m thankful that I had barely any reaction. It is a gamble either way, but in the end, the virus scared me more.
Everyone wants to travel and not have to provide negative test results or vaccine cards, it’s annoying. I get it.
The economy. Need I say more? We gots problems, y’all, right? And no one wants to live through a Depression after a Pandemic. Can I get an Amen!!🙏
You think God is protecting you. Ok, but you have gotten sick before & he didn’t protect you then, right? I’m sick & in pain EVERY day, but never do I blame it on God or expect Him to magically fix me. I mean, we all understand the fallacies of the human condition, right? God blessed us with big brains & logic, not an invisible force shield for COVID and it’s variants. Life has given me pain, and God is my salvation from that pain, not the cause of it. Because of Him I know I can fight each day, and I look to His guidance when it comes to docs, I pray about meds and trust in Him with ever surgery. It’s life. We’re merely human.
But, if you are unwilling to deal with all of the above, you refuse to follow mandates, and you are tired of living in a pandemic that is affecting the entire world,…… no judgement, just a question:
What ARE you doing to help end this pandemic?
In what ways do you show you actually value the life & breath of others? What actions are you taking to demonstrate that you actually, truly care?
How are you protecting yourself, your family or your community? What sacrifices have you made or are willing to make to ‘get us back on track’?
How are you protecting ALL those Lives? Blue lives? Nurses lives? Teachers lives? Elderly lives? Family lives? Your life?
I’ve openly & kindly shared my feelings, fears, concerns, and actions that I’ve taken, and I’m genuinely curious what others are doing to manage this crazy COVID world we’re in & how y’all are trying to stop it. Every ounce of effort counts! If you are unwilling to do what’s been asked of Americans in the form of mandates, what will you do? What are you doing? For the record, bitching isn’t actually going to help anything, so if that’s been your tactic thus far, I’m looking for new ideas. Any disrespectful comments will be ignored and deleted. I have a migraine and I will not engage in negativity.
