Don’t Ask Why

I HATE being asked “why”… it takes me hours (sometimes days) after an episode to collect my thoughts, ponder what triggered me, and to gain the words and bravery to communicate my feelings. It takes meditation, journaling, weed and a lot of thinking to figure out the shit that goes on in my head so the answer to “why” is complex and often I don’t even have an answer. I know they mean well, but I’d prefer it asked in a different way. i.e, what do you need right now/how can I help? Are you feeling afraid? Of anything specific? Are you feeling pain? (Pain can be so overwhelming sometimes that you literally just go crazy.) There are so many other/ better questions to throw at someone when they’re in the midst of suffering a psychotic, emotional episode rather than simply “why?”. ✌️💜
